One of the most amazing things about living in California is that things move just a tad bit slower here.
Perhaps because the city is a bit more spread out? Perhaps because more people are stoned all the time? Most likely, because just "happening to run into someone on the street" happens much less often here (and I kind of love it).
Firstly, I just want to say: I love you all.
Secondly, this past month has been exhausting, and WAY too many things have gone wrong.
I just want to give [up].
I will say that I was definitely ready for a fresh start this week. After all the drama last weekend with the Orlando Massacre, it was pretty difficult for me to stay focused. Really, 'Tis a great reminder to breathe and enjoy life more, but sometimes it just SUCKS to not be happy.... To have wanted to do one thing, but get stuck spending your time on something else...
Something that always helps me get through these difficult times, is music. And so [ before I leave for work ] I will leave you with the music that got me through last week. 'Tis is a treble heavy mix of some songs that are sure to get you out of a funk.
TBH, this week has been rough [ for a lot of reasons ]. Thankfully, there has been so many beautiful last minute events that have come together to celebrate love and acceptance. And truly, I am in awe of the support the LGBTQQAA+ community has shown each other. 💙✨🙌🏻👱🏻
That being said...
One has to ask them-self: Why doesn't this happen all the time?
Why do people always sing and support each other AFTER something bad happens. 💡✨🤔
I woke up this morning feeling even more congested and runny [ because yes, apparently you can be both... ] than last night. So, I'm currently enjoying some soup and sudafed as I try not to let myself do too much work.... I just finished editing a video timelapse of the ANTM recreation I produced, and now for some reason I'm feeling very tempted to clean my apartment a little, but kind of feel like crafting sounds like fun...
Because yes, this is what I do on sick days...
OMG, Did you see?! Vh1 has finally announced that they are casting for the newest season of America's Next Top Model! And Naturally, I applied. ✨🙆
I remember in middle school, my friend Emily and I would run home to catch the show every week and talk for hours trying to think of new ways to approach each challenge. [ Which of course was always followed by an impromptu photoshoot. ] I've always known that I would be perfect for the show. In fact, I applied for ANTM Cycle 20, and even though I didn't make the cut the first time, I was lucky enough to receive an email encouraging me to apply again the next year [ assuming everyone didn't get that email… ] though little did I know, the following year was when I realized that I had a 5 millimeter hole in my femur... 🙊
[ Oh Right, that happened... ]
I mean, something must be in retrograde right now, because I just feel as though everything is super difficult to accomplish. For instance, when I was doing the laundry last night it just haddd to be when my building's hot water heater was out of order. So, I literally had to do some of the wash twice. And then later, I made that same mistake with the dishes... ... it's hard not to get frustrated.
The party? The Hello Mr. Valentine's Day soirée titled: Hello Love.
The venue? Verboten [ which literally just kept reminding me of Rasputent from Anastasia, so clearly we went home and netflix and chilled to that afterwards... ]: A warehouse style space complete with a giant disco ball in the center of the dance floor, and of course, an instagram-worthy photo booth area with an epic designed floral display by Keeping up with the Putnams.
The evening? Amazeballs. ❣
It has been wayyyy too long since my last [confession] and I'm happy to say that it has been a busy week, and I'm inspired to keep things going. I mean, if Beyoncé can fall in the Super Bowl anything can happen, Right?
In mean really, in my opinion, Grease is a really difficult show to do ( and I should know, because I played Doody in Middle School 😝]. After an opening number like Summer Lovin' where it's nearly impossible to not sing along, how are you evvvver supposed to keep an audience entertained for three more hours??
