Firstly, I just want to say: I love you all.
Secondly, this past month has been exhausting, and WAY too many things have gone wrong.
I just want to give [up].
I will say that I was definitely ready for a fresh start this week. After all the drama last weekend with the Orlando Massacre, it was pretty difficult for me to stay focused. Really, 'Tis a great reminder to breathe and enjoy life more, but sometimes it just SUCKS to not be happy.... To have wanted to do one thing, but get stuck spending your time on something else...
Something that always helps me get through these difficult times, is music. And so [ before I leave for work ] I will leave you with the music that got me through last week. 'Tis is a treble heavy mix of some songs that are sure to get you out of a funk.
TBH, this week has been rough [ for a lot of reasons ]. Thankfully, there has been so many beautiful last minute events that have come together to celebrate love and acceptance. And truly, I am in awe of the support the LGBTQQAA+ community has shown each other. 💙✨🙌🏻👱🏻
That being said...
One has to ask them-self: Why doesn't this happen all the time?
Why do people always sing and support each other AFTER something bad happens. 💡✨🤔
I woke up this morning feeling even more congested and runny [ because yes, apparently you can be both... ] than last night. So, I'm currently enjoying some soup and sudafed as I try not to let myself do too much work.... I just finished editing a video timelapse of the ANTM recreation I produced, and now for some reason I'm feeling very tempted to clean my apartment a little, but kind of feel like crafting sounds like fun...
Because yes, this is what I do on sick days...
OMG, Did you see?! Vh1 has finally announced that they are casting for the newest season of America's Next Top Model! And Naturally, I applied. ✨🙆
I remember in middle school, my friend Emily and I would run home to catch the show every week and talk for hours trying to think of new ways to approach each challenge. [ Which of course was always followed by an impromptu photoshoot. ] I've always known that I would be perfect for the show. In fact, I applied for ANTM Cycle 20, and even though I didn't make the cut the first time, I was lucky enough to receive an email encouraging me to apply again the next year [ assuming everyone didn't get that email… ] though little did I know, the following year was when I realized that I had a 5 millimeter hole in my femur... 🙊
[ Oh Right, that happened... ]
I mean, something must be in retrograde right now, because I just feel as though everything is super difficult to accomplish. For instance, when I was doing the laundry last night it just haddd to be when my building's hot water heater was out of order. So, I literally had to do some of the wash twice. And then later, I made that same mistake with the dishes... ... it's hard not to get frustrated.
The party? The Hello Mr. Valentine's Day soirée titled: Hello Love.
The venue? Verboten [ which literally just kept reminding me of Rasputent from Anastasia, so clearly we went home and netflix and chilled to that afterwards... ]: A warehouse style space complete with a giant disco ball in the center of the dance floor, and of course, an instagram-worthy photo booth area with an epic designed floral display by Keeping up with the Putnams.
The evening? Amazeballs. ❣
It has been wayyyy too long since my last [confession] and I'm happy to say that it has been a busy week, and I'm inspired to keep things going. I mean, if Beyoncé can fall in the Super Bowl anything can happen, Right?
In mean really, in my opinion, Grease is a really difficult show to do ( and I should know, because I played Doody in Middle School 😝]. After an opening number like Summer Lovin' where it's nearly impossible to not sing along, how are you evvvver supposed to keep an audience entertained for three more hours??
And you know what I think?
Lately, I've been having trouble getting started ( which you'll read more about later... ) and am often faced with becoming super energized and creative at ohhhh around midnight or so (go figure). So, I've just decided to go with it. I mean, if I'm having trouble sleeping because I have a melody for a song stuck in my head, shouldn't I just get up and write the dang song?!
To be Honest, I feel like I have a lot of thoughts going on in my head right now... with today being the first Monday of 2016, it feels as if I must start things off to a good start or it'll knock the whole year off kilter... because you know, that's how life works right? [ Oh wait... ]
Happily back in New York just in time to celebrate New Years with some besties, I am definitely feeling re-energized and ready to go into 2016 at full force.
Well I just completely burned my tongue on my Starbucks reward beverage ( today, a triple tall 1 pump toffee nut soy latte. obvi with a sprinkle of cinnamon ) … and I am just realizing I forgot headphones... Awesome.
I awoke in the Hudson Crossing Surgery Center in New Jersey to my nurse asking me if I'd like a Fig Newton or a Nutri Grain bar [Nutri grain, duh] as I slowly began to be fed some water one ice cube at a time. All I want is Greg's hand to hold. I can tell that I'm out of it, and that I need to move slowly and just breathe... Oh right, mouth breathing, awesome.
With inspirational speakers like Joe Biden, and performances by none other than Carly Rae Jepsen herself, it was quite the affair.
But don't take my word for it,
See it for yourself:
The good news? Everything is getting done! YAY!!! I'm doing well at auditions, I'm booking gigs every week, I've even got some vacations coming up... The Bad news?
I was a little bit nervous in posting this week's video because it's MUCH less edited than I had originally intended it to be... but in thinking back to my last post, it felt as if the timing couldn't be more appropriate.
Over this past weekend, I spent some time in DC for the Human Rights Campaign #NationalDinner and got to meet some pretty awesome besties. But [like usual] when something goes well... something must also go terribly wrong... Watch, as you see my real reaction to when I sat down at the computer the other day.
Let's be honest, I have about five drafts of entries that I have let my ADHD get the better of... So today I said to myself, WRITE ANYTHING. Set a timer for 30 minutes, and write ANYTHING.
SO THAT'S WHAT I DID.
As we devoured the deep fried Oreos and a chocolate peanut butter layer cake that was to DIE for, a cowboy juggling glow in the dark balls and a sexy nurse on stilts circled around us.
YOU KNOW, JUST A REGULAR SUNDAY. 💁🏼✨
OH MY GOSH, HERE! 🎶🙌🏻👱🏻
A compilation of some of my new favorite music:
( all of which I have undoubtedly had on repeat for most of this past week. So please, ENJOY! :D )
I will FIRST say that I've definitely had Nick Jonas's new song Levels on repeat alllllllmost all day *as I start it over again...* and you should definitely put it on if you haven't already heard it. Also, right now I am currently enjoying a delicious homemade dirty martini that is hitting the spot on this lovely Funday Sunday, so thank you SO much for tuning in! [as if this is radio...]
P.S. I'm back in New York!
(as if you know i left...)
I have been on vacation for the past two weeks [ hence why I didn't post anything for the past couple weeks... I'll get better at this I swear. 😜] and am definitely having the feels being back in New York again...
OMG. So yesterday was an awesome day on set with the folks over at ABC. A #Throwback to Ridel High with Little Anthony and the Imperials [you know all their songs, you just don't know their names...] So if you failed yesterday and didn't remember to set your DVR to record The View... FEAR NOT! ☝🏻👱🏻, I've got you covered. 😉
Oh my goodness, it's been 17 days since my last [blog post] and I have no good excuse for it. Just sitting down to write has just been too freaking difficult to do right now, and I am glad to be hopping back on the bandwagon again.
You know, just a sensible little bike ride with some lovely music coming from my bag in the front of the bike.
It seems like just yesterday Greg and I were celebrating New York's marriage equality, and I am just so happy to see things continuing to move forward as quickly as they have...
I am just so happy right now that I'm having a difficult time processing my feelings into words. I just got home a little bit ago from my first post-surgery dance class ...
LOOK UP WITH EOIN :: Miami :: Part 1 ...
Today, it has been about getting the house back into order. Being that this morning I realized there was very little edible food in the apartment to make breakfast with, it seemed as if it was about time for some grocery shopping ...
My first "Vlog" style video. [ ... and for those of you out there who may be completely new to this concept, it's pronounced like blog, but with a v. #duh 💁*cough* greg *cough* ] ...
Now that it's beginning to feel a lot more like summer again, this can only mean one thing: Lots of Parties! And while don't get me wrong, I do love a good rooftop party. However...
An abandoned haunted house halloween party, followed by frolicking throughout New York eating people for sustinance... I mean taking photos with them. Happy Halloween!
With all this ebola going around, I feel it's a good time to focus on getting your daily vitamins and staying hydrated! And let's be honest, we all have a dusty juicer lounging around somewhere in our apartment just waiting to be used again. :P Here's a quick recipe for a delicious green juice.
