A Note To Those who've continued to scroll:
YOU'RE AMAZING. I LOVE YOU. KEEP GOING.
But Really, I ( Eoin Thomas ) want you to know that I believe in you and encourage to be whoever you want to be. This is REAL LIFE, and [fortunately] we only get one chance at this. I know for myself, it's easy to get stuck in my head and not want to keep going when life gets difficult, but that's just it : Life is difficult [sometimes], and that's okay. You are not alone. In fact, the more I share about my struggles and depression, the more you all seem to reach out and share your own story, and I love that. I love being reminded that we all go thru similar obstacles in life, and that if we work together we can pull each other out of the darkness.
I create art to do just that: pull myself out of the darkness, capture the moments that people might miss if they're head is stuck [ in their phones ], 😉 and more simply: to express my mood. And like all of us: sometimes I get self-conscious to share so publicly what's going on in my life. I can often be my own worst critic and stand in the way of doing whatever makes me happy. To combat this: I practice to recognize that I cannot control what other people think (Thank goodness!), that not everything needs to be perfect or liked by everyone, and by focusing on enjoying the process, I don't need to worry about the outcome as much.
Keep sharing your story. Continue to find friends that make you smile. And when you're alone and feeling stuck: 1. Open your eyes. 2. Look Up. 3. Take a deep breath. (repeat as necessary)
